New England’s fall foliage is legendaryIt’s a trip not to be missed!

Across the region, leaves turn from green to gold and scarlet, and to purple and orange. The show is magnificent – and free! Follow this itinerary to see ‘the color’ along valleys and across mountains, from aerial tramways and ferries, by the sea and, for something unexpected, in award-winning vineyards!

Mother Nature puts on a spectacular show every October, when the eastern forests burst into red, orange, and yellow hues. That makes autumn the perfect season to explore New England’s time-honored landmarks. From the quintessential, autumn fare of Vermont to the colonial roots of Salem, take in the history and charm of the East Coast—all under a vibrant canopy of color.

History is not all you’ll experience on this marvelous tour. You’ll also see spectacular beauty and amazing fall foliage. In New Hampshire, travel to the scenic White Mountains, New England’s greatest range and premier outdoor playground. We drive along Coastal New England and throughout your tour, marvel at the scenic drives and stunning fall colors full of blazing red, orange, and yellow leaves (if Mother Nature permits).

Day 01 – New Jersey – Lake Champlain – 6 Hours (370 miles)
Today, we start our Journey to Lake Champlain. We drive through the following places. Along the journey we see leaves turn from green to gold and scarlet, and to purple and orange. Lake Candlewood: This is largest lake in Connecticut. Kent: This is the best spot for fall foliage viewing. 15 Mile drive from Kent to Housatonic Meadows state park is one of the most scenic drives in Connecticut. We pass by Housatonic Meadows state park, Berkshires, Mt Gary lock state forest, and Manchester, and then reach Lake Champlain. (Meals: L, D)

Day 02 – Lake Champlain – Gloucester, MA – 5 Hours (280 miles)
After breakfast, we proceed to Gloucester, MA. We drive through Breton Woods. North Conway: As you pass through the White Mountains, stop at the state’s most iconic spots, including Franconia Notch and the Old Man of the Mountain Memorial Park. We drive through the landscapes of the state’s most famous scenic byway, the Kancamagus Highway, and also make our way to Mount Washington, located in the beautiful White Mountains. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 03 – Gloucester, MA – Acadia National Park – 5 hours (280 miles)
After breakfast, we proceed to Acadia National Park, ME. Acadia National Park is located on Mount Desert Island just off the coast of Maine. This scenic park encompasses mountains, the ocean shoreline, lakes, and forests. Much of Acadia National Park’s outstanding scenery is the result of glaciers carving through an east-west ridge of granite, leaving mountains separated by valleys. Many glaciers have covered Maine, and the last melted 11,000 years ago. Big blocks of ice were left behind, forming lakes and ponds. As the glacier retreated, sea level rose and flooded the valley that is now the only fjord located on the eastern seaboard of the United States, Somes Sound. We enjoy 27-mile Park Loop drive, which winds past such landmarks as Cadillac Mountain, Otter Cliffs, Jordan Pond, Thunder Hole, and Sand Beach, which offers some of the park’s best coastal views. The carriage road system also features 17 stone-faced bridges located throughout the loop. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 04 – Acadia National Park – Boston (This drive Covers Coastal New England Tour) – 5 Hours (280 miles)
After breakfast, we proceed to Boston. We proceed for a Boston Guided city tour, which focuses on the city’s most prominent landmarks; the historic sites near Boston Common, Old State House, Old North Church, from where Paul Revere got the signal to start his famous ride, Freedom Trail, and Faneuil Hall, with the chance to browse in Quincy Market. We also visit Cape Cod. Cape Cod is a geographic cape and peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean in the easternmost part of the state of Massachusetts in the Northeastern United States. Its historic, maritime character and ample beaches attract heavy tourism during the summer months. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 05 – Boston – New Jersey – 6 Hours (284 miles)
After breakfast, we proceed to New Jersey. We pass by following places like Salem, a coastal city in Essex County, Massachusetts. Located on the North Shore, Massachusetts, Salem is a New England bedrock of history and is considered one of the most significant seaports in Puritan American history. Marblehead is a coastal, New England town located in Essex County, Massachusetts. Its population was 19,808 at the 2010 census. It is home to the Marblehead Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, Crocker Park, the Marblehead Lighthouse, and Devereux Beach, New Bedford which  is a city in Bristol County, Massachusetts. We then visit Mystic Seaport. There is the Museum of America and the Sea, in Mystic, Connecticut, which is the largest maritime museum in the world. It is notable for its collection of sailing ships and boats, and for the re-creation of the crafts and fabric of an entire 19th-century seafaring village. It consists of more than 60 original historic buildings, most of them are rare, commercial structures moved to the 17-acre site and meticulously restored. (Meals: B, L, D)
