Mount Rushmore

  • Day 01 – Home Town – To Rapid City – Mount Rushmore (30 Miles – 30 Minutes)

Fly to Rapid City. After reaching our destination, proceed to Mount Rushmore to visit the Crazy Horse Memorial, started over 50 years ago by Chief Henry Standing Bear who invited sculptors to carve a mountain honoring the heritage, tradition and culture of North American Indians. Today, this tribute is still incomplete. Then, on to the magnificent Mount Rushmore National Memorial, the largest statue-monument in the world. The faces of four American presidents – George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln – are carved into the granite mountainside high above the treetops of the Black Hills. The carving took 14 years to complete and serves today as a priceless shrine of democracy. After lunch, return to Rapid City. Afterwards, an optional night tour to the Mount Rushmore monument where you will watch a fantastic light show ceremony and hear an inspiring performance of the National Anthem. Mount Rushmore at Night. (Meals: L, D)

    Day 02 – Drive to Cody (375 Miles – 6 Hours)

Morning departure to Sheridan, Wyoming, set halfway between Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore, along with its dramatic vistas of the striking Big Horn Mountains. The town’s authentic Main Street is lined with historic buildings, offering Old West appeal in a modern setting. After lunch, continue to Cody for an afternoon arrival. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 03 – Arrive in Yellowstone, Hayden Valley

An extraordinary experience as we enter spectacular Yellowstone National Park, a breathtaking natural wonderland established in 1872 as the first national park in the United States. Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho, too. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, countless hot springs and two-thirds of all of the geysers in the world, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It’s also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk, and antelope. Upon arrival, cross over the Yellowstone River into the Lower Loop. Continue towards the Hayden Valley to see it’s incredible thermal features. See the Mud Volcano, with its rhythmic belching of steam and flashing tongue of water. The Caldron exploded onto the landscape in 1948, blowing trees out by their roots and covering the surrounding forest with mud. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 04 – Full Day in Yellowstone, Old Faithful

Begin the day in Yellowstone, with a visit to the dramatic Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone with its turbulent River – 24 miles of twisting, sheer rock cliffs carved 1200 feet deep. Then, on to Mammoth Hot Springs, a large complex of hot springs on a hill of travertine, created thousands of years ago. Continue to the Lower Geyser Basin to Fountain Paint Pots along the Firehole River. After, on to the highlight of the day – legendary “Old Faithful.” The thrilling eruptions shoot up into the air approximately every 90 minutes as high as 184 feet. En route to your hotel, stop at the Continental Divide – here, water flows on one side to the Gulf of Mexico, and the other side flows to the Pacific Ocean. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 05 – Yellowstone National Park – Grand Teton National Park – Jackson Hole – Salt Lake City (358 miles – 5 Hours)

After breakfast, we will continue to explore Yellowstone National Park. Then, we will travel along the Snake River to Grand Teton National Park. Grand Teton National Park is simply stunning. Snow-capped mountains and 12 peaks rise more than 12,000 feet above sea level. A string of jewel-like lakes, fed by mountain streams, are set tightly against the steep foot of the mountains. After spending some time at this amazing park, we will head to Salt Lake City, UT, for the night via a stop in Jackson Hole, WY. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has the longest continuous vertical rise of any ski area in the U.S. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 06 – Salt Lake City – Bryce Canyon National Park (340 miles – 3 Hours)

After breakfast, we head to Bryce Canyon National Park. The limited archaeological findings indicate that this area was used primarily for hunting, with most habitation in the river valleys below. Over time, erosion has carved colorful limestone into thousands of spires, fins, arches and mazes. The formations collectively called “hoodoos,” and are arranged and tinted with various colors. Overnight stay in Bryce Canyon. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 07 – Bryce Canyon National Park – Zion National Park – Lake Powell – Las Vegas City Tour (280 Miles – 4 Hours)

After breakfast, proceed to Zion National Park. The name Zion is a Hebrew word meaning place of refuge. Experience the dramatic landscape of sculptured canyons and soaring cliffs. Zion National Park’s canyons and mesas boast an especially exquisite beauty, even in a state known for dramatic landscapes. Breathtaking Zion Canyon is the centerpiece of this 147,000-acre parkland that protects a spectacular landscape of high plateaus, sheer canyons, and monolithic cliffs. Carved by water and time, Zion National Park is a canyon that invites you to participate in the very forces that created it. Lake Powell is the second largest man-made lake in the US, and is without doubt the most scenic, stretching 186 miles across the red rock desert from Page, Arizona to Hite, Utah. The scenery is so unusual that Lake Powell has been used as the setting for many movies, the latest, “Gravity.” We reach Las Vegas late evening and go for a Las Vegas city Tour and explore Las Vegas, experiencing the spectacular Colorful Dancing Fountain water fountains of the Bellagio, the Pirate Ships at Treasure Island, Stratosphere Tower, Downtown Vegas, and of course Fremont Street. The Fremont Street Experience is located in the heart of downtown and this world-famous venue is home to Viva Vision, the largest LED screen in the world. Experience free concerts, special events, and roaming street performers throughout the year. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 08 – Las Vegas fly – Home Town

After breakfast, we spend a full Day in casinos. There are a lot of things to do for free in Las Vegas. Casinos are competing with each other to attract customers. This is one of the things that make Las Vegas the greatest place on earth to be entertained without spending any money. After early dinner, we proceed to airport for overnight flight back home with wonderful memories. (Meals: B, L, D)
